I followed the market price for 98-99 E36 M3's for 6 months before deciding to get a 2000 M coupe. Low mileage M3's (less than 20k miles) can be found for $32-35k all day long. 4 door, auto transmission M3's have been beaten down to $25-30k. Even CPO (certified pre-owned) M3's are nowhere near $38k. Keep in mind that a 99 M3 is now three model years old. The depreciation curve is going to be very scary in a few months when the E46 M3's start flowing in. My advice: look elsewhere. Dean
